Note: Her obituary in "Big Spring Hearld" read,¶ "Big Spring, Texas¶ Ginny Elizabeth Newman Crawford, 62, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, October 16, 2008, in an Odessa hospice facility. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Jim Binnix, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.¶ She was born on May 25, 1946, in Stanton, Texas. She grew up in the Lomax Community and attended schools in Stanton. She married Jackie Don Crawford on August 30, 1963, in Big Spring. He preceded in her death on November 5, 1980. Ginny attended Howard College and received her Licensed Vocational Nursing Degree. She worked for several doctors and then worked at Cowpers Clinic, Hall-Bennett Hospital and then later worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center for many years until retiring due to her health in 1999. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.¶ Survivors include two daughters, Lana Kay Crawford Kirkham of Big Spring and Dawn Michelle Tucker of Brownwood; sister-in-law, Judy Rogers of Big Spring; sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie Lee and Melvin Fryar of Brownwood; brother, Ralph Newman, Jr. of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her step mother, Jean Tidwell of Big Spring; five grandchildren, Kimbre Kristene Kirkham, Kayla Marie Kirkham, Randall Kirk Kirkham, Jackie Joe Kyle Kirkham, Sarah Marie Hanson, four great grandchildren, Jaylon Toby KIrkham, Jaylee Maria Phillips, Heavenly Meadow Perryman, and Drake Anthony Perryman.¶ She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Robert and Norma Newman, one son, Randall Crawford and two sisters, Anita Myers and Patricia Newman.¶ Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
