"Walked to school 2 miles, down a dirt road, each day thru the11th grade. Started riding the school bus in the 12th grade.
"Many times a herd of cows would get out of the pasture and be on the road, and the children would be afraid to go past them. If it was raining, or bad weather, she would stay in town with Miss Maggie Cunningham, and her father would come to town to pick her up.
"On the weekends, the Brooks family and the Milligan family would get together and they would pop popcorn, roast peanuts, and play Rook. They would meet at different houses on Saturday night and stay for hours.
"Louise and J.O. went to church on their first date. Their dates usually were with friends at their houses, where they would play games and things like that. Dated for about 3 - 4 years before they married. Started dating when she was in the 10th grade.
"Uncle George and Aunt Sallie "got after" Louise and her family about coming to the Sunday School in Hutchins. She had known J.O. for several years, but they started going together after this.
"Also dated Robert Fitzpatrick.
"Attended Lexington Baptist Church as a youth.
"Went to Athens once each year, just before Christmas. First trip to Athens was in a wagon." - Kenenth England
