Note: grand-niece Kimberly Slover wrote to Doris Ross Johnston, "I knew Beryl and Opal when a little girl and loved both of them. They were kind of short woman but Aunt Opal was a mess, she was my father's favorite. One thng I remember was she would play pick with you as fun. Also she had a bedroom and bathroom with purple all in it; I thought as a little girl that was the prettiest thing in the world. She lived in Pecos, TX. Aunt Beryl was a sweet lady, she lived in Alpine and worked at the dime store or dept. store on Main Street; we would see her there but Nanny would take me to her house that was close to the golf course and swimming pool in Alpine." |
