Revolutionary War
Note: Applied for a pension in 1835 when a resident of Salem Township, Highland County, Ohio, USA. Gave a deposition which shows he moved from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania to Harrison County, Kentucky, and from there to Highland County, Ohio, where he had resided about 39 years. Application was denied due to his failure to produce witnesses who knew firsthand, of his unpaid voluntary service at Fort Wallace, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania - not surprising after 55 years. A history of the fort says it was "manned almost entirely by unpaid volunteers from the area." No family information in file. |
