Note	The Graphic, Georgetown, Ky. March 24, 1966 Death Ends Long Service of Stamping Ground Doctor Dr. J. W. Taylor,86 the only practicing physician in the Stamping Ground area, died Tuesday afternoon at the John Graves Ford Memorial Hospital after an illness of four months. ¶ Dr. Taylor practiced medicine in Scott, Grant, Owen, and Franklin Counties for 63 years and was regarded as a typical"old fashioned country doctor". He was honored with a special "Dr. Taylor Day" at Stamping Ground July 31, 1963, at which time many of his friends and patients paid tribute to him. ¶ A native of Owen County, he had been in regular practice since his graduation from the University of Louisville School in 1903 until four months ago when he became ill. ¶ He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alma Taylor, a daughter, Mrs. Louise Poindexter, Stamping Ground; a son Frank Taylor, Owenton; a brother, Julian H. Taylor, Georgetown; a sister Mrs. J.W. Smithers, Boca Raton, Fla.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. ¶ Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Cassity Funeral Home by the Rev. Dennis smith and the Rev. Howard Stark. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. ¶ Bearers will be John R. Hall, B.L. Wiley, John M. Hall, Haney Parrish, George Gaines, and E.H. Gibson. Note	Formerly standing as a derelict on the west side of Georgetown, Kentucky for decades, the John Graves Ford Memorial Hospital contained a glimpse into the past on the inside. Documents, gurneys, betaline dispensers and more lay strewn about inside.
