"Jannette Marrs Humphreys died at her home in Sedona, Arizona on March 14, 2008. She was born in Coleman, Texas on October 10 [9], 1942 to Merlin and Alma Marrs. She graduated from Coleman High School in 1961, attended McMurry College in Abilene and graduated from Methodist College in Fayetteville, N.C. She taught school in San Francisco, California for 33 years before retiring in Sedona, Arizona. She loved to travel and traveled extensively during the summers.
"She is preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, twin sister, Annette Marrs, Mary Kennedy, and Gene Awalt.
"She is survived by her husband, Francis Kovalcik of Sedona, Arizona; brothers, Johnny and wife Sue of Marble Falls, Mayo and wife Mary Sue of Midland, Donald and wife Melba of Houston, Bob and wife Inez of Memphis, Texas and Jimmy and wife Barbara of Lubbock. She is also survived by dear friend and caregiver, Tracy Marshall of Sedona, and several nieces and nephews.
"Jannette cared deeply for two nieces who lived with her when they were young, Anna and Maggie Kennedy.
"A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5th at the Coleman City Cemetery with Rev. Kent Marrs of Georgetown, Texas officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
"We appreciate the care Jannette received from M D Anderson, Dr. Araugo and her staff in the Sarcoma unit.
"Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman."
