Death
Text:

Abraham Fry, Father, b. 10 June 1820 d. 15 July 1905

Shared note
  1. Col. Abraham FRY2 was born on 10 June 1820 in Washington County, Pennsylvania.2 He served in the military in 1861 in Civil War. He died on 15 July 1905 in Gallatin, Sumner County, Tennessee.2

There was an Abraham Fry in Company D, 79th Pennsylvania Volunteers during the Civil War. In the same unit is a Henry Fry. Evidence is that Abraham and Henry had a close relationship so there is a high probability this is the two brothers. Abraham enlisted at Lancaster PA in 1861 and was wounded in the leg. He was hospitalized at Louisville KY but suffered from the wound for the rest of his life. Pension was $12 per month.

After the Civil War, Abraham and Henry sailed around South America to the gold fields of California but did not stay. Abraham & Sarah went to Tennessee to visit Sarah's relatives and like what they saw. They went back for Henry's family, loaded their belongings on a barge and floated down the Monangahela to the Ohio, the Tennessee, the Cumberland Rivers to Gallatin.

Col. Abraham FRY and Sarah "Sally" GREGG were married on 14 October 1841 in Washington County, Pennsylvania.2 Sarah "Sally" GREGG was born about 1819.2 She died on 19 June 1903 in Gallatin, Sumner County, Tennessee.2
