Note: probably....Augusta County is a county located in the U.S. state of Virginia. Augusta County was formed in 1738 from Orange County, although county government was not organized until 1745. Originally, Augusta County was a vast territory with an indefinite western boundary. Most of what is now West Virginia as well as all of Kentucky were formed from it, and it also claimed the territory north and west of those areas, theoretically all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

Milit-Beg

was Pvt. in Capt. Peter Hull's Company of Virginia Militia

Note

a beneficiary of Thomas LORIMER's will which stated he was to receive the land on Black Thorne River north of Doe Hill that he was already living on. This suggested that Hugh Bodkin was supporting Lorimer and has led some to believe he was his son-in-law. There is no evidence to support a 2nd marriage, per descendant Mark Allen, nor any evidence of a Farmer family (some claim Hugh's wife was Esther Farmer).

Note

was allowed 50 acres for his service in 1758 in Capt. Preston's Company of rangers

Note

was deeded land on Black Thorn, a branch of South Branch of the Potomac River
