She was born July 13, 1940 in Burnet to Herschel Ellett and Opal Estepp Ellett, She was proud of serving in the Texas State Guard, and was retired from the Texas Child Protective Services in Austin. She was pre-ceded in death by her son: Jerry Dee Ellett Shorten, she in survived by her daughter, Joy and her husband, Bernard Purdy, of Round Rock; sons, Jerry Wayne Ross, of Burnet, Herschel and Lisa Cone, of Lockhart, brother, John Ellett of Burnet; grandchildren, Jerry James Ross, Melissa Ann Ross, Chelsea Lee Ross, Robyn Purdy, Nathaniel Purdy, Benjamin Purdy, Sebastien Purdy, Quintin Purdy, Haley Cone, and Laney Cone, great-grandchild, Hayden Ross, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bertram with Mr. Tim Denton officiating.
