CARROLL G. TAYLOR¶ Carroll Gholson Taylor, 73, long a resident of Crystal Lake, with his late wife, Marion (nee McFadden), died Oct 1 in an Evanston convalescent home where he had been for only a day following long confinement in Presbyterian-St, Luke's Hospital.¶ He was a graduate of the law school of the University of Kentucky.¶ The Taylors came to this city in the early 1930's and at one time he was a director of the Home State Bank of Crystal Lake. He retired in January of this year from the Chicago office of Franceis I. duPont & Co., stock brokers.¶ He is survived by a brother, Guy B. Taylor of Chadds Ford, Pa., and St. Petersburg, Fla. Mrs. W. C. Baker of Hillside rd. is a relative by marriage. ¶ Friends called last night at the Hebblethwaite funeral chapel in Evanston. Services and internment will be in Lexington, Ky., tomorrow.¶ Although Mr. Taylor sold his Lakewood home after his wife's death and moved to an apartment in Chicago - spending time also in Florida - he returned here frequently to visit, and this gentleman will be sorely missed by his friends in Crystal Lake and Lakewood. |
