tombstone inscription: SARAH A.; Wife of; L. V.; DAVIDSON; Died; Jan 22, 1912; Age 65 years; 6 mos. 11 Days.

Note

Robert Willard McLean, author of "Third-Fourth Generation, Descendants of Ephraim McLean," has Sarah Amanda McLean (born 13 Jul 1846; died 22 Jan 1912) as the daughter of Samuel McLean, son of Ephraim McLean. He also has this Sarah Amanda McLean's first husband being Adolphus Marion Gillespie and her second husband being Lee V. Davidson.

Most sources have this Sarah Amanda McLean [I117] as the daughter of Samuel Davis McLean [I113], son of Samuel McLean[I32] (who was the son of Ephraim McLean [I33]) and first wife of Lee V. Davidson.

The other Sarah Amanda McLean [I55674] which was born in 1822 and died in 1897 and married in 1850 was the daughter of Samuel [I32] (who was the son of Ephraim [I33] and was married to Adolphus Marion Gillespie [I122].

Having two Sarah Amanda McLean's as daughters of two Samuel McLean's can be extremely confusing. As more sources are discovered, this may become more clear.
