there appeared on the rent rolls of Baltimore Co. in Spesuty hunderd: Elberton, 1000 acres Surv. the 15th Aug 1683 for Thomas Thurston. C. in pos. James Empson, 500 acres, C. in pos. Thomas Manning, 500 acres (Rent Rolls of Baltimore and Anne Arundel Co., p. 26).
Thomas Thurston of Baltimore, Planter, patented Elberton, 1000 acres on the West side of Susquehanna River on 1 Jun 1685. This was part of a 1500 acre warrant granted to Arthur TAYLOR of Baltimore Co., planter. The 1000 acres due unto Thomas Thurston of Baltimore Co. by assignment from Aurcher Tailour were laid out for Thurston, a parcel of land called Elberton, to be held in the Mannor of Baltimore.
