Note	Obit in the August 18, 1911 Centralia Fireside Guard. Transcribed as written. -Absalom Kanatzar Dead--Absalom Kanatzar died at his home in southeast Centralia Monday, Aug 14, of a complication of diseases, after an affliction of a number of years with rheumatism. Absalom Kanatzar was born near Richmond, Kentucky, March 18, 1855 and died August 14, 1911 at the age of 56 years, 4 months and 27 days. His father, James Kanatzar, emigrated to Missouri and settled near Centralia in 1857. He was married to Phoebe J. Webster, in 1878 who departed this life in 1882. In 1883 he was married to Nannie Elkins. To this union one child was born, which with its mother died soon after its birth in 1883. Mr. Kanatzar was married to Ella Bush in 1886. To this union four children were born, Milford, Lemuel V, Mary Irene and Herman C, all of whom with the widow survive. He became a member of the Christian church at Union at the age of 15 years and was a member there up to the time of his death. Mr. Kanatzar had been an invalid for fifteen years and has been confined to his room for about six years. The end came peacefully at 7:30 Monday, August 14 at 7:50. Funeral services were conducted at Union by Rev. Hollis Bradley, of near Moberly, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Union Cemetery. Deceased leaves one sister, Mrs. Richard Cook, and five brothers, Jno. J. Kanatzar and D.B. Kanatzar of this city, James W. Kanatzar, of St. Louis, IL, and Jesse Kanatzar of Benton City, MO. Richard Kanatzar died in childhood. Mr. Kanatzar was once well started in the nursery business here and had the finest prospects for business possible but was compelled to abandon the enterprise on account of ill health. He was a man well liked by all who knew him and was honest and conscientious in his dealings. Centralia loses a good citizen in the death of A.
