Note	Obituary Notice: June 3, 1914 - "MRS. WILKS GONE TO REST "At her home, on June 3, 1914, Mrs. B. A. Wilks passed peacefully away from the scenes of earthly trial, toil and suffering, to the eternal rewards and everlasting glory of the rest that remaineth for the loved ones and friends left behind. Her death was not unexpected, as she had been in bad health for three years. Her physicians had said with the disease she had medical aid could not reach. However, it was none the less sad, as she had expressed her readiness and willingness to go. "Before her marriage, she was Miss Josie Stone; was born Dec. 2,1860; married to Mr. B. A. Wilks in 1876; of their union were born fourteen children. Husband and eleven children left to mourn her untimely demise. She has gone to join the other three that have been beckoning mother for several years to a brighter and better world, where farewell tears and sad parting will be no more. "She united with the Methodist church at the age of fourteen, of which she continued a faithful member up to the time of her entering the joy of her Maker. She was gifted with a good nature, a bright mind, and warm affections. By her sympathy and hospitality, she drew about her many friends. It was a rule of her life to say nothing about any one unless she could say something good, so we find it difficult to pay a fitting tribute to such a noble woman. No kinder, affectionate wife, mother, grandmother or sister ever lived than she; but she has left us. Why should we grieve, when we know that her sufferings here on earth are not worthy to be compared with the glory which is revealed within her now? "On Thursday funeral services were conducted by Revs. Stone and Speer, and her tired, frail body was laid to rest in the Stone cemetery, in the presence of a large assembly of sorrowing friends and relatives. May the bereaved husband and children resolve here that they may meet her in that happy, where she is forever with the Lord. " Friend." - submitted by Kenenth England.
