Note
|
According to Stephen Michael MacLean, Nancy Elizabeth McLean was the daughter of Samuel McLean and Martha A. McGowen and not the daughter of William John McLean and Nancy Parchman as some have thought. I believe that Nancy's father Samuel Phillip and his two daughters moved into his father's home after the death of Martha in 1850, the same year as the census that lists Nancy E. and Sarah J. as part of the household of William. |
