Bride: Jennie Taylor; Groom: E. F. Tippie; Administrator: A. J. Jernigan, MG; 12/05/1900, Hamilton County Texas Marriage Book 3, Page 192. |
Name |
On the page from her father's Bible he listed her as "Genierrah" Taylor |
Note
|
Her sister Erie Catharine Taylor Wilks wrote on 29 May 1910, from Grandpa Wilks's place near Chalk Mountain in Somervell County, Texas, "In November, Sister Generrie or Jennie we call her, came to see us; she had been living in Loraine, Michel Co. 3 years, and we were all so glad to see her, she stayed with us all until the 10th of January 1910, she went by Winters where Frank was working; stayed a few days with him, then went on home with Howard, her boy. She took sick and after 11 days of terrible suffering, she died. Oh, how hard to give her up. It didn't seem possible that she was gone to never return. Sister Rena and Levia went out there on Sunday. I got word on Monday so we went to Hico Monday night and Karl, Vane, and I with Brother Johna took the train and went out there, it seemed like we never would get to Cisco when we did get there the Lorain train had been gone an hour so we had to wait there ten hours and we got out to Sister's she was almost gone and never knew us. We got there at 10 o'clock Tuesday night and she died Wednesday morning at daylight. They buried her that evening and we started home next morning, we got to Hico about 3 o'clock in the morning the eleventh of February." |
