Note	Jane Groom was the daughter of John Groom, born ca 1700 at Wilmington, DE, in what had been the Colony of New Sweden. Nothing more is known about him. Jane married Richard Bartleson, 6 Mar 1747, in Holy Trinity Church, New Castle, DE. He was the son of Zacharias Bartleson and grandson of Andrew/Andorcas Bartleson. His great-grandfather Bertel Eskillson and great-great-grandfather Eskil Larsson (following the patronymic naming pattern) came on the third shipload from Sweden to the Colony of New Sweden at Wilmington, arriving in 1641, aboard the Kalmar Nyckle. Their wives or womenfolk were not mentioned. The men had been "convicted of burning the forest" and sentenced to go to New Sweden as punishment.
