"Mrs. Shumate, a native of Marshall County, where she spent the last years of her life, was for many years a resident of Newburn. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. "She is survived by her husband, Quincey Shumate, four daughters; and three nieces of Nashville, Mrs. John H. McClure, Miss Mammie Akin, and Mrs. L.G. Durr.
