Georgia Land Lottery of 1805. Jesse had a lot in the 1805 Land Lottery, when lands ceded by the Indians were distributed; the 1805 lottery is unique in that names of all participants were preserved, not just the successful draws. John Wilks- 1 draw. Benjamin, Mary and Paul Wilkes had 1 draw each. Mary and Paul Wilkes each were successful "Fortunate Drawers-Grantees". Citation details: Letter "W" |
